4th of JulyOn July fourth, people across the United States celebrate Independence Day which honors July 4, 1776, the day on which the nation adopted the Declaration of Independence, officially proclaiming the country's independence from Great Britain. Modern Fourth of July celebrations include baseball games, concerts, speeches, ceremonies, parades, carnivals, fireworks displays, picnics, and backyard barbecues. No matter the type of party, Independence Day celebrations always feature stars and stripes and the colors red, white, and blue. The following are three fun ways you can incorporate the American Flag theme into your Fourth or July celebration.

Food Although playing with food is generally not recommend, we encourage you to decorate with your food for the Fourth of July with festive holiday recipes. Serve patriotic parfaits by layering whipped cream, strawberries, and blueberries in glass serving dishes. Guests will eat up an American Flag pizza made with a rectangular baking dish, stripes of pepperoni, and stars of black olives. Be sure to have lots of fun with dessert by treating guests to festive cupcakes frosted red, white, and blue and decorated with star shaped sprinkles.

Decorations Fill your home and backyard with festive Fourth of July atmosphere by using red, white, and blue elements of decor. String crepe paper or ribbon from the backs of chairs, edge tables with patriotic swag banners, and place clusters of helium balloons at the serving table and bar. You can even hang silver stars from trees, a trellis, or the ceiling. Floral arrangements featuring red and white carnations or roses and blue floral accents will make the perfect centerpieces for your tables and add a splash of elegance to your other fun decorations.

Fun Festivities Continue adding to the decor throughout the party by setting up a crafting station to entertain the children at the party. Stock the table with all the supplies they will need to fashion tissue paper sparklers, place mats, construction paper wind socks, pinwheels, and paper chains. Be sure to provide plenty of glitter to ensure their decorations dazzle throughout the day as much as the fireworks dazzle after dark.

However you plan to celebrate the Fourth of July, our professional floral designers at French Florist will help you select the perfect patriotic floral arrangements for your festive picnic, barbecue, or parade float. We wish you a fun, safe, and happy Independence Day holiday!
